Mushroom watercolor painting and the artist.

Mushrooms in the gallery.

The mushrooms you see on pieces in our store are from this creation I made and shown at the Axis Gallery Pioneer Square, Seattle WA earlier this year (2024). It had been many years since I actively participated in showing my work "out there". This was a fun event for my re-entrance into the art world.

Watercolor and ink mounted on wood, hung with twine. It was a cute project that I almost didn't submit thinking it was not artsy enough. But who am I kidding. This is the Pacific Northwest. Mushroom art is everywhere here. The piece sold that first night, much to my delight and surprise. In retrospect, I should have put a higher price tag on it, I was thinking too small.

A wonderful opportunity provided for me by the Gage Academy of Art to which I am a student.  (There's something to returning to school in your 50's but that's another post for another time)

The exhibit ran a few weeks, and I was excited to be a part of that experience. That area of Seattle is filled with gallery's, studios, stadiums, high-end establishments and the chronically homeless. Funny how that happens...

Looking forward to having more experiences like this one.
